Hermeneutics of the Human Condition
Our teaching and research activities centre on practical philosophy. The emphasis is not primarily on systems, dogmatics or the science of principles. On the contrary, life practice unfolds in liveliness which is accompanied by a practical-pragmatic intention.
Not only the classical examples of Socrates, Plato or Aristotle are studied but also the sceptical, dialogical-dialectical, deliberative-consulting aspects of philosophising.
Within the scope of general hermeneutics and language philosophy problems of aesthetics, ethics and, last but not least, philosophy of religion are discussed and introduced into the current discussion of (post-)modern contemporary philosophy.
This concept of perception is examined by way of the tradition of the European moralists as represented in particular by Friedrich Nietzsche and Michel de Montaigne.
This serves to obtain impulses of free self-articulation, creative communication and frank recognition.
Accordingly, philosophising means manifestations, interpretations and demonstrations of those contents as have been agreed upon in the Human Condition.
Finally we seek answers to the question: What is the human being?
